Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for
Maritime Exploration Space
May 7, 2025
10:00 am
Thanks to generous support from our community, the Museum will complete a renovation of our front window space facing Washington Avenue. A play-ready lighthouse, pier, and fog house will soon open to invite passersby into the Museum to experience local maritime history.
The public is welcome to attend this grand opening, but registration is required. Our other Museum exhibits will be open for touring, scavenger hunts will be on hand for young explorers, and open-play activities will be available on our 'Play Porch' near the Victorian House.
For adults wishing to attend with their child/children and be among the first to use the Maritime Exploration Space, we are booking Play Appointments beginning at 10:20 am throughout the day. Each Play Appointment is for 20 minutes; this will help us accommodate the high interest and meet safety and capacity guidelines for the space.

'Cakes & Cocktails' is a very special opening reception for TCHM’s Centennial Hall exhibit, Old, New, Borrowed, Blue: Weddings in the Tri-Cities. This ticketed event will take place amid displays of objects from the Museum’s collection and will let guests ‘taste the past’ with tastings of three recreated wedding cakes, plus three cocktails (mocktails will be available). This event is open to the public, and Museum members receive their member discount!
Attendees are encouraged to dress for a wedding…whether as a bride, a groom, a mother-of-the-bride, attendant or guest; prizes will be awarded at the end of the evening for the best representation of ‘old’, ‘new’, ‘borrowed’ and ‘blue’!
