Exhibits
We immerse visitors in the stories of the Tri-Cities wherever they look. Victorian period rooms, medicine, agriculture, lumbering, maritime, tourism, and other exhibits portraying day-to-day life can be enjoyed by people of all ages and interests.
Permanent Exhibitions
The trajectory of Tri-Cities history is featured in our 13 permanent exhibits, taking visitors through the people, events, and places of the area beginning in the geologic era through the present. These - along with our annual temporary exhibits - draw all ages and interests and feature objects, documents, photographs, and art specific to the Tri-Cities.
Upcoming Exhibitions
With over 70,000 objects in our collection, there are so many exhibit topics to explore! From featuring a particular era, to exhibiting objects that fit a theme, or even highlighting new artifacts accessioned to the collection, our lineup of future exhibitions will keep you exploring local history for years to come! Find your favorite!
Digital Exhibitions
Digital exhibitions capture the essence of a static exhibition, but make it accessible well past the exhibit end date...and let history explorers from all over the United States and the world discover a piece of Tri-Cities history, like West Michigan Pike, Winsor McCay, and Highland Park. Outreach Exhibits
Outreach exhibits highlight the history of the Tri-Cities area with displays at local City Halls, Libraries, and other government or public institutions. Visitors to these sites are connected to the history of their hometown with artifacts, images, and stories. We are currently refreshing many of the outreach exhibits, so look for new displays soon!
Exhibitions Committee
The Tri-Cities Historical Museum is interested in gathering input from the community on exhibitions! We are creating an Exhibitions Committee comprised of Museum staff, Board members, and interested members of the public. This committee will ensure that the Museum exhibitions cover a diverse range of topics and will assess proposals for future exhibitions.
You do not have to be a historian or a museum professional to be on this committee! We are interested in community members from diverse backgrounds and perspectives who want to make the Museum’s exhibitions reflect the multifaceted experiences of Tri-Citizens. Committee members must be able to commit to a full two-year term and pass a background check. To apply or nominate a fellow community member, please contact Exhibitions Curator Kate Crosby (kcrosby@tchmuseum.org) and let her know you are interested.
If you can’t commit to a full term as a committee member, you can still give your feedback and suggestions for exhibitions through our website or by contacting Exhibitions Curator Kate Crosby (kcrosby@tchmuseum.org). We would love to hear what you think about our exhibits and topics we could cover in the future, whether for Centennial Hall or an outreach exhibit.
